Women in Egyptian Public Life

A study of seventy-four active women in four sectors of Egyptian society, based on in-depth interviews. It explores how education, family networks, social and economic status, and personal qualities contributed to their public roles in Parliament, political opposition, business, and as wives of Egypt’s presidents, along with social and legal changes affecting women in Egypt.
