Harrison E. Salisbury (1908–1993) was an American journalist, foreign correspondent, and author. He was a long-time staff member and editor at The New York Times, where he was known for his groundbreaking reporting from the Soviet Union. He won a Pulitzer Prize in 1955 for his reporting on the Soviet Union and was a prolific writer, penning numerous books on history, politics, and his own experiences. Salisbury was one of the first American journalists to report from Vietnam and China, and his work often challenged official narratives
