An Outline History of England By A. G. Eyre

This book, the second in a new series of Longman Background Books, covers comprehensively the main aspects of English history from pre-Roman Britain up to the present day. It shows how England became united with its neighbors, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, and how together they formed the British Empire and played such an important part in the formation of the United States of America. The book is attractively illustrated and written within the 2,000 word vocabulary of the General Service List of English Words, with a limited number of other words added.
